Bengaluru: As if the sexual assault case against Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna was not enough, a police complaint has now been filed against his brother MLC Suraj Revanna.
It was a man who filed the case at Holenarasipura police station in Hassan district, alleging that he was sexually assaulted by Suraj at the latter’s farmhouse on June 16.
According to the complainant, Suraj invited him to his farmhouse and forcefully kissed him, bit his lips and cheeks.
He alleged that Suraj also threatened to kill him if he didn’t cooperate.
“Suraj told me you’re alone in this farmhouse. You don’t know about me and our family. He threatened to kill me if I don’t cooperate,” the complainant stated.
After sexually assaulting him, Suraj told the victim he would help the latter grow politically in the district.
The man mentioned in his complaint that when he later texted Suraj about the incident, the latter replied: “Don’t worry, everything will be fine.”
Suraj and his acquaintance Shivakumar earlier on Saturday filed a complaint alleging they were being blackmailed by two people over a ‘false’ sexual assault allegation.
The latest setback in the Revanna family comes after Prajwal, arrested by SIT officials as soon as he returned from Germany on May 31, was remanded to judicial custody by a special court in Bengaluru.
Prajwal and Suraj’s father HD Revanna, who was also arrested on a kidnapping case and sexual assault charges, is out on bail.
HD Revanna is former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda’s son.
