Balangir: Husband of a Samiti Member was shot dead by some miscreants at Bagdor panchayat under Balangir’s Belapada block on Monday.
The deceased is Lokanath Biswal, husband of Banita Biswal. The miscreants fired at Loknath from a close range and bullets hit him in the chest. They fled from the scene immediately.
Locals present at the spot, rushed Lokanath to Belapada medical where he succumbed to the bullet injury.
While locals suspect political rivalry as he was an influential person in the area, police are yet to make any statement. A manhunt has been launched to nab the miscreants, said police.
