Puri: Eminent sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik greeted people Odia New Year, celebrated as “Pana Sankranti”, with a magnificent sculpture of Lord Jagannath in sand on Puri beach on Thursday.
Another sand sculptor Manas Kumar Sahoo also conveyed his wishes to everyone on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti and Odia New Year through his sand art on the beach.
He built an enormous sand sculpture of Lord Hanuman near the light house. The sand sculpture is 17 feet wide and about 12 tons of sand has been used to make it, said Sahoo. It took the artist 7 hours to complete it.
