Mumbai: Bengaluru Police on Thursday searched the house of actor Vivek Oberoi in connection with a drugs case allegedly involving his brother-in-law Aditya Alva, The New Indian Express (TNIE) reported.
The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have issued a lookout notice against both Alva, son of late minister Jeevaraj Alva and film producer Shiva Prakash in connection with the drug scandal in the Kannada film industry.
“Aditya Alva is absconding. Vivek Oberoi is his relative and we got some information that Alva is there. So we wanted to check. So a court warrant was obtained and the Crime Branch team has gone to his house in Mumbai,” NDTV quoted a police officer as saying.
Aditya Alva’s Bengaluru house was also searched.
Meanwhile, the bail petition of Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani who were arrested earlier in the Sandalwood drug case will be heard by an NDPS Special Court on September 24, TNIE added.
