Bhubaneswar: Senior journalists Sandeep Mishra and Sambit Mohapatra were elected president and secretary of Odisha Sports Journalists Association (OSJA) here on Sunday. Mishra and Mohapatra would respectively succeed K Ravi and Sanatan Pani, whose tenures came to an end.
The new office-bearers, who will have a two-year term, includes K Ravi (working president), Sanjib Biswal, Debi Prasanna Mohanty and Samikhya Patnaik (vice presidents), Tapan Kumar Swain, Debashis Sundaray and Gyana Ranjan Mishra (joint secretaries) and Himanshu Pati Mishra (treasurer). Besides, Sushant Mohanty, Sanatan Pani, Suresh Swain, Tanmay Das, Suvalaxmi Balm Samir Rout and Shakti Prasad Nanda were elected as executive body members.
At the association’s annual general body meeting, it was decided to continue pressing for the demand of sports journalists for accreditation with the state’s information and public relations department. Various other issues pertaining to sports journalists as well as the association’s proposed activities were also discussed.
