Hyderabad: A casual movie outing turned fatal for a 35-year-old woman and her minor son in Hyderabad.
The stampede outside the Sandhya Theatre during the screening of Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ a fortnight ago had left the woman dead. The minor boy, who was critically injured, has now been declared brain dead, India TV reported.
Sri Teja, who is undergoing treatment at KIMS hospital in Hyderabad, has not been breathing, and remains in critical condition.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand and Health Secretary Dr Christina IAS visited KIMS Hospital to inquire about Sri Teja.
As per a post shared by the Hyderabad City Police on X, the doctors have stated that Sri Teja is currently on ventilator support and the treatment is likely to be prolonged.
A medical bulletin on Sri Teja’s health condition will be released soon, stated the post.
Health Secretary Dr Christina said that the doctors are monitoring Sri Teja’s health condition regularly and are hoping for his speedy recovery.
‘Pushpa 2’ star Allu Arjun was arrested from his residence by the Hyderabad police in connection with the Sandhya Theatre stampede case following an FIR by the dead woman’s husband.
However, Telangana High Court granted interim bail to the actor and he was released from detention.
Allu then took to social media to express concern and commitment to meet the medical needs of the injured boy.
The actor also stated that he couldn’t meet the boy and his family because of legal restrictions.
