Bhubaneswar: A vehicle used for sanitation and cleaning operation went up in flames under mysterious circumstances in Chandrasekharpur area of Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
As per preliminary information, no injury to anyone was reported in the incident that took place near Damana Chhak in Chandrasekharpur area of the city. The vehicle engaged in road cleaning operation suddenly caught fire on the road, locals said.
The fire spread rapidly and engulfed the vehicle within minutes. The fire service was immediately contacted for quick action.
A team of the fire service reached the site after being informed and extinguished the fire. However, extensive damage was caused to the vehicle due to the fire while no one was hurt in the incident.
The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. Efforts are on to find out the cause of the fire.
