Nuapada: A sanitation worker was killed after allegedly being hit by the car of a Block Development Officer (BDO) in Komna area of Odisha’s Nuapada district, sources said on Wednesday.
According to sources, Komna BDO Sushant Rana was proceeding towards Nuapada in his car on Tuesday night when the vehicle allegedly hit the temporary sanitation worker, identified as Dibakar Deep of Taraboda village. He was riding a bicycle.
Deep was immediately taken by locals to a health centre at Taraboda. He was later shifted to the district headquarters hospital at Nuapada as his condition deteriorated. Deep succumbed to injuries during treatment, they said.
While his family members demanded adequate compensation, a team of police personnel visited the site.
