Puri: A day after two persons tested corona positive in Puri town, the district administration has launched a sanitisation drive.
The two persons, who had returned from West Bengal in a car on May 5, were staying in a hotel in a hotel in Mahadev Lane near sea beach. Their swabs were sent for laboratory test on May 7 and those were found corona positive on Sunday.
Puri Collector Balwant Singh said the area where they were staying has been declared as containment zone and the fire brigade personnel were engaged in sanitising the Renuka Lane and its adjoining places.
While the two persons have been sent to Bhubaneswar for treatment, corona test has been conducted among the people who had come in contact with them.
The collector said since the duo had violated the home quarantine norm after their return from West Bengal, official action will be initiated against them.
