Mumbai: Bollywood actors Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty have joined hands with Aslam Shaikh, Cabinet Minister for Textiles, Port, Fisheries & Guardian-Mumbai City to feed the pandemic affected families of Mumbai’s ‘dabbawalas’.
As per a Mumbai Mirror report, the actors have sent food trucks to Pune, where the majority of these ‘dabbawalas’ are putting up during this crisis.
So far, 800 kits of rice, ‘dal’, sugar, ‘atta’, and oil have been delivered to Khed and Malval.
Talking about the initiative, Suniel told Mumbai Mirror, “It’s an initiative started by Aslam Bhai and Sanju, I had no hesitation in joining hands with them. Prema Cha Dabba becomes even more beautiful when everyone gets together.”
The staff of the NGO Save The Children India is taking care of things in Pune. Sanjay and Suniel have set a target of helping nearly 5000 families.
“The NGO has staff on the ground to look into everything. We have a three-month plan in place,” added Suniel.
On the work front, Sanjay Dutt will be seen in Mahesh Bhatt’s upcoming film ‘Sadak 2’ while Suniel Shetty will be seen in ‘Mumbai Saga’.
