Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Aakhri Sawal’ Delayed Over Censorship Issues: Report

Mumbai: Sanjay Dutt-starrer ‘Aakhri Sawal’, which has been making headlines for some time, is reportedly facing a delay as it awaits clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The film was initially scheduled to hit theatres on May 8, but due to censorship hurdles, audiences may now have to wait a little longer for its big-screen release.

“The nature of the film and its plot is such that the CBFC members are being cautious. The makers have explained to the CBFC committee that their film is based on historical events and records and hence deserves to be released. The discussions between the makers and the CBFC have taken a lot of time. Hence, the producers of Aakh

ri Sawal felt that it would be wise to push the film to a later date,” a source was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama.

The source continued, “At present, the makers are considering releasing their film on May 15. Of course, this will be subject to receiving the censor certification on time. An announcement on the same can be expected soon once the hurdles are cleared.”

The film revolves around a crucial meeting believed to have reshaped the nation’s trajectory, offering a perspective that goes beyond traditional historical narratives.

Besides Sanjay, the film also stars Amit Sadh, Namashi Chakraborty, Sameera Reddy, Tridha Choudhury, and Neetu Chandra.

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang, the film is presented by Nikhil Nanda and produced by Nikhil Nanda and Sanjay Dutt under the banners of Nikhil Nanda Motion Pictures and Neem Tree Entertainment.

It is co-produced by Puneet Nanda, Dr. Deepak Singh, Gaurav Dubey, and Ujjwal Anand.

Recently, Sanjay announced his next, a sequel to ‘Khalnayak’ and unveiled the first look on April 24.
