Bhubaneswar: In a major reshuffle in the senior IAS cadre, the Odisha government on Wednesday appointed senior IAS officer Sanjay Kumar Singh as Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The 1997 batch officer, who is presently in charge of Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Government, Skill Development & Technical Education Department with additional charge of Commissioner-cum-Secretary, I & PR and Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO), will replace the 2010 batch IAS officer Prem Chandra Chaudhary, who is appointed as Officer on Special Duty, General Administration and Public Grievance.
Singh will remain in additional charge of Vice Chairman, Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and CEO, Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd in addition to his own duties.
Apart from this, 1995 batch IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary, Revenue & Disaster Management with additional charge of Principal Secretary, Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department will remain in additional charge of Principal Secretary, Information & Public Relations in addition to his own duties.
The 2002 batch IAS officer Krishan Kumar, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Works with additional charge of Chief Administrator, SJTA, Puri and Chairman, Puri Konark Development Authority (PKDA) is allowed to remain in additional charge of CMD, IDCO in addition to his own duties.
Besides, 1995-batch IAS officer Hemant Sharma, Secretary, Industries with additional charge of Chairman, IPICOL is allowed to remain in additional charge of Principal Secretary, Skill Development and Technical Education in addition to his own duties, said a release by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department.
