Sanjeev Chopra Appointed Home Secy, Pradeep Jena New Odisha SRC

Bhubaneswar: In a minor reshuffle in the top bureaucracy, the Odisha government on Friday appointed 1990-batch IAS officer Sanjeev Chopra as the Principal Secretary, Home.

Chopra is currently serving as Principal Secretary, Industries, with additional charge of Principal Secretary, MSME and Home, and Chairman of Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC).

According to a General Administration notification, he has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Home, with additional charge of Principal Secretary, General Administration and Public Grievance (GA &PG).

The other postings are as follows:

1. Principal Secretary, Water Resources, Pradeep Kumar Jena (1989 batch) has been posted as Principal Secretary, Rural Development with the additional charge of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) and managing director, Odisha State Disaster Mitigation Authority (OSDMA)

2. Mona Sharma (1989-batch) has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Forest and Environment. She was serving as Principal Secretary, Rural Development, with an additional charge of Forest and Environment,

3. Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment (A & FE), Saurabh Garg (1991-batch) has been given additional charge of CMD of Gridco and Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (OPTCL) and CEO of Odisha Coal and Power Ltd (OCPL).

4. Hemant Sharma (1991 batch), who was posted as CMD of Gridco and OPTCL with the additional charge of Secretary, Energy, has been appointed Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Industries, with the additional charge of Commissioner-cum-Secretary, MSME and CMD, Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL).

5. Bishnupada Sethi, a 1995 batch officer and Commissioner, Commercial Tax & GST with additional charge of SRC and Managing Director, OSDMA, will take charge as commissioner-cum-secretary, Energy with the additional charge of CMD, Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC).

6. Special Secretary, Planning & Convergence, Chithra Arumugam (1995 batch) has been appointed as Commissioner-cum-Secretary, School and Mass Education.

7. Special Secretary, Water Resources, Vishal Gagan (1998 batch) has been given additional charge of Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Water Resources.

8. Arvind Agrawal (2007 batch), who is currently serving as Director, Social Welfare, with  additional charge of Managing Director, Mahila Vikash Samabaya Nigam, has been given the additional charge of Additional Secretary, GA &PG, the notification added.
