Bhubaneswar: The close link of popular Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt with Odisha has come to the fore with the recent release of ‘Sanju’ a biographical movie.
The movie features the arrest of the 59-year-old actor under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act in April 1993 for being in possession of an AK-56 rifle and his connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts.
His father, veteran actor Sunil Dutt had performed ‘Chandi Patha’ a special ritual of Goddess Bimala and Vishnu Sahasra Nama in the Jagannath Temple, Puri in 1996 by the servitors for the release of his son. He stayed at Hotel Mayfair in Bhubaneswar.
After his release from Yerwada jail in Pune on February 25, 2016, Sanjay Dutt also visited Jagannath Temple and met the servitors of Goddess Bimala.
