Cuttack: Trouble escalated for Polasara MLA from BJD and former minister Srikanta Sahu with his party colleague, Sanjukta Mahala, moving the Orissa High Court, alleging police inaction on her physical and mental harassment allegations against him.
The petitioner has sought the court’s direction for proper investigation of the matter.
The BJD MLA, Odisha government, Twin City Police Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), and inspector of Mahila police station in Bhubaneswar have been made parties in the case.
Sanjukta had earlier lodged two complaints against Sahu at Mahila police station in Bhubaneswar, accusing the legislator of having betrayed her after being in a relationship with her for nine years and subjecting her to physical and mental harassment. She had also cited threat to her life and demanded police protection.
The BJD leader had alleged that though police had lodged a case, the sections applied mentioned only pertains to a quarrel with the former minister.
Sahu was removed from the Ministry in May after the woman BJD leader brought the allegations against him.
