Santosh Trophy: Odisha Post Third Win, Placed Second In Group V

Bhubaneswar: Odisha returned to winning ways in the Santosh Trophy, outplaying Sikkim 3-0 ina Group V fixture at Capital Football Arena here on Friday.

Odisha got their nose in front as early as the 4th minute through Sanjit Khora. The lead was doubled after 23 minutes when P Samal found the mark, while Chandra Muduli added to the tally in the 39th minute.

Crossing over with a 3-0 advantage, the home team created a few more chances but the scoreline remained unchanged.

Odisha, who are in second place with 9 points, will face toppers Meghalaya (10 points) in their final league encounter.

Odisha’s lone defeat was against Telangana, to whom they went down 0-1 two days ago.
