Santosh Trophy: Odisha Rout Pondicherry 5-0 To Post Second Straight Win

Bhubaneswar: Odisha maintained their rocking start to the Santosh Trophy campaign with another big win on Monday.

Two days after walloping Andaman & Nicobar 7-0, Odisha dismissed the challenge of Pondicherry 5-0 at Capital Football Arena.

The Group V hosts took the lead after 28 minutes through midfielder Bikash Sahoo, who had scored against Andaman & Nicobar also.

Changing ends with a slender advantage, Odisha consolidated their position with two goals from T Prabin – in the 52nd and 68th minute.

An own goal by R Kanna made it 4-0 in favour of Odisha, before Rahul Mukhi completed the tally in the 84th minute.

In today’s other fixtures, Meghalaya edged past Telangana 1-0 while Sikkim beat Andaman & Nicobar 3-1.

Odisha, who lead the Group V standing with 6 points, next face Telangana on December 28.
