Bhubaneswar: Odisha finished their Santosh Trophy final round campaign with a creditable 2-2 draw against Karnataka here on Sunday.
After conceding a 17th-minute goal, Odisha came back strongly in the first half itself. Prabin Tigga (21st) and Chandra Muduli (36th) found the target to hand Odisha a 2-1 lead at half-time.
Karnataka levelled scores 8 minutes after half-time to ensure a point which helped them qualify for the semifinals with 9 points, while Punjab (11 points) topped Group A.
Odisha’s good show in their final group league fixture was not good enough as they finished with 5 points (1 win, 2 loss, 2 draw) to be fifth in the 6-team group.
Goa cut a sorry figure, losing all their five games.
