Bhubaneswar: The Managing Director of Sarala Realcon Pvt. Ltd. Gayadhar Jena has been arrested by the Commissionerate Police arrested once again on Wednesday in connection with multiple land fraud cases.
Jena was arrested based on a complaint registered against him at Saheed Nagar police station. His arrest unfolded two other cases of land fraud.
During interrogation, police found out that he had also cheated few Army and CRPF Jawans of Jammu and Kashmir.
The accused was arrested four times before this on similar charges. Jena was arrested by Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch in 2015 for duping customers of around Rs 50 crore.
His wife Pankajini Jena, Director of Sarala Realcon Pvt Ltd, had also been arrested by police in March this year for duping a buyer of Rs 30 lakh.
In another case Mancheswar police arrested two persons–Amit Nayak and Sanjit Mohaptra –on charges of duping a person on the pretext of selling land in Chakeisiani area here. The duo with the help a fake proprietor managed to take Rs 49 lakh and 19 lakh fraudulently from the victim, in two phases.
Meanwhile, DCP Umashankar Das urged people to immediately contact the anti-fraud cell of Commissionerate Police if they have been the victim of fraudulent land deal by the accused.
