Bhubaneswar: A Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) team sealed a sari shop in Laxmisagar area of the city for flouting COVID-19 norms on Friday.
According to reports, a squad from BMC South East zone raided Shagun Sari shop and found it crowded with shoppers for Raja festival.
The BMC squad also imposed a fine of Rs 5000 on the shop owner.
On Thursday, Twin City Commissioner of Police (CP) SK Priyadarshi had warned denizens of strict action for any violation of COVID-19 guidelines during Raja.
The CP had also warned that shops found breaking the rules will be sealed and the owners may face arrest.
