Rourkela: In the run-up to the Panchayat elections, people in Kutra panchayat of Odisha’s Sundargarh district held a written test for its sarpanch candidates.
Nine candidates are in the fry from this panchayat. They have been campaigning with a lot of vigour for the five-phase elections slated to begin from February 16. While they have been using different means to woo the voters, villagers of Malupada were not impressed and instead put them to a written test.
While eight among them agreed to appear for the test, only three could clear it, sources said.
