Saving Precious Lives: Over 10K Tonne Medical Oxygen Sent From Odisha To 11 States In 19 Days

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has successfully sent 559 tankers loaded with more than 10,000 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen to 11 states in the last 19 days.
The massive humanitarian support by the state government with the help of Odisha Police comes at a time when the country is still grappling with oxygen shortage and deaths due to it.

Odisha Police had created a dedicated corridor to ensure prompt loading, transportation and supply of Liquid Medical Oxygen
from industrial units at Rourkela, Anugul, Jajpur and Dhenkanal.
From the districts, the LMO is sent to 11 states of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.

Following a direction from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, a Special Cell was formed with ADG (L&O) YK Jethwa, as the Nodal Officer for coordinated action for loading and transportation of medical oxygen by Odisha to States facing deficit.
