Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda and personal staff Dipesh Sawant in connection drug abuse surrounding the actor’s death in June.
In his statement to the NCB, Dipesh said that he saw Sushant smoking marijuana (ganja) just two to three days after joining him as a personal staff in September 2018.
Dipesh further said that one Karan had introduced Sushant to weed.
“During that period Abbas Khalooi would prepare ganja (weed) or charas for Sushant Sir and also smoke with him and his director/manager Kushal Zaveri,” he said.
Dipesh clarified that he never brought drugs.”One of my colleague Rishikesh Pawar used to bring ganja for Sushant sir,” he said.
He was later fired from his job. In January 2020, he received a call from Sushant. When Dipesh met Sushant in January 2000, he sounded very low and told him that he was keen to quit acting and shift to Pawana, Lonavala.
News agency ANI had quoted the NCB as saying that from the Sawant’s statement and digital evidence, it was “clear” that Dipesh Sawant was “an active member of (a) drug syndicate connected with high society personalities and drug suppliers”.
