Mumbai: State Bank of India (SBI) on Friday launched its ATM services at doorsteps to help the customers maintain social distancing during banking transactions.
The service was started in Lucknow Circle of the bank on a pilot basis and will be extended to the entire country, if successful.
The following Doorstep Banking (DSB) services were available since May 5, 2018:
These services can be availed by senior citizens of more than 70 years of age, differently-abled, persons having medically certified chronic illness or disability and visually impaired.
Services will be offered to such customers with registered addresses within 5-km radius of their branch and should have KYC updated along with mobile number.
The customers can call or send a message on WhatsApp to use this service.
Cash withdrawals and deposit are restricted to Rs 20,000 per transaction per day. SBI will charge Rs 60+GST for non-financial transactions and Rs100+GST for financial transactions for the DBS services.
