New Delhi: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of Justice Jaswant Singh as Chief Justice (CJ) of Orissa High Court.
The decision was taken on September 28 in the wake of another Collegium recommendation to transfer the current CJ of Orissa High Court, Justice S Muralidhar to Madras High Court.
Elevated as Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court on December 5, 2007, Justice Jaswant Singh was transferred and took oath as a Judge in the High Court of Orissa on October 8, 2021.
He studied law and business administration at Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak before enrolling as an advocate in 1986. From March 1991 till his elevation, he held the posts of Assistant Advocate General, Deputy Advocate General, Senior Deputy Advocate General and Additional Advocate General, in the office of Advocate General, Haryana.
