New Delhi: The, Supreme Court, on Monday, said that it will not pass any order, directly or indirectly, in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple donation theft case, as it could bind the hands of additional sessions judges where the chargesheet will be filed.
The Court, however, asked the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to submit a copy of the chargesheet, whenever it is filed.
Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta informed the Court during the hearing that the chargesheet in the case will be filed by the SIT before September 25, adding its probe is nearly complete, as reported by timesnow.in.
The SC-monitored SIT will file the chargesheet before the first accused arrested in the matter completes 90 days in custody, the SG informed the Court. Unless that happens, there is a possibility that the accused will be granted default bail, Mehta said.

During his submissions, the SG said that the SIT, during its probe, examined extracts of CCTV footage and mobile data. All CCTV footage has been secured.
Some of the accused have been identified from CCTV footage. There is also an evidence of unexplained deposits of cash in the accounts of some of the accused, Mehta said.
He submitted that there is clear evidence of embezzlement and misappropriation of temple funds. The SIT has also gathered information about 803 valuable items that went missing. The witnesses include Trust officials and CCTV operators.
The Supreme Court will hear the matter again next month.
