SC Directs Centre To Seize Dawood Ibrahim’s Properties

New Delhi: The Supreme Court, on Friday, directed the Central Government to seize the properties of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. The decision was taken by a SC bench headed by Justice RK Agarwal.

Dawood’s mother Kaskar and sister Haseena Parkar had challenged the decision of the investigating agencies including Enforcement Directorate to attach a property owned by them in Mumbai as ‘proceeds of crime.’ However, their plea was rejected by the bench.

A detailed report had been filed by the Centre stating that the properties in Nagpada belonged to the underworld don which had been acquired using ‘undeclared and ill-gotten income’ from his criminal activities.

Though Dawood’s current location is still a mystery, it is believed that he is residing in Pakistan. He is wanted for several crimes including murder, extortion and terrorism.
