New Delhi: The Supreme Court (SC) has deferred hearing on Puri Srimandir reforms given Justice AK Sikri’s superannuation.
A new bench will be set up. The deferred date of hearing is yet to be announced.
The hearing was based on a report submitted by the SC-appointed amicus curiae to Srimandir, Ranjit Kumar, on March 5. The report contains detailed instructions on the abolition of hereditary appointment of servitors.
The report also contains prohibition of collection of money for Annadan Atika from devotees and amendment of Shree Jagannath Temple Act, 1954.
