New Delhi: After hearing Rhea Chakraborty’s plea seeking transfer of the case to Mumbai from Patna, the Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed the Bihar Police to interrogate her in Sushant Singh Rajput case.
According to a report in Republic TV, a single-judge bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy refused to grant interim protection to Rhea, who is an accused in the case.
The Supreme Court also said that quarantining of IPS officer Vinay Tiwari, who arrived in Mumbai to supervise Bihar Police’s investigation into the death of actor, does not send a good message when there is so much attention on the case.
“Quarantining of the Bihar Police officer has not sent good message despite the fact that Mumbai Police has a good professional reputation,” said the top court.
Rhea Chakraborty had moved the Supreme Court after Sushant’s father filed an FIR against her in Patna for abatement to suicide.
Following which, the actor’s father KK Singh and Bihar government had filed a caveat in the top court.
Sushant’s family lawyer Vikas Singh has also accused the Mumbai police, investigating the case, of destroying evidence.
