New Delhi: Observing that there was ‘no compelling circumstance to assume that any untoward thing will happen’, the Supreme Court on Monday refused to pass orders on an application against a protest march announced by the Cockroach Janata Party on September 5 in Delhi.
According to reports, the Court issued notice to the Centre and the Delhi Police on the application filed by Rizan Ahmed, a lawyer, who had pleaded for listing the matter on September 3. But, as per a Live Law report, the court refused to list the matter before September 5.
The bench that passed the order comprised Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V Mohana. Theyposted the matter to September 10. The matter would now be heard along with other matters related to the student protests.
Alleging that the Centre has failed to honour its commitment to drop the cases against the students who participated in the July protest over the exam-paper leak, CJP has announced this stir on September 5.
