Scalerz 2.0 At Bhubaneswar’s SOA: ‘Technology Poised To Change Every 3 Weeks’

Bhubaneswar: In a rapidly changing world, technology is becoming obsolete every three months and engineering students should keep themselves updated all the time, an expert advised at the SOA Scalerz 2.0 event at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan.

“With rapid developments, technology will soon change every three weeks. Hence students need to keep pace with the changes,” SJ Naganagouda, Chief People Officer at Tally Solutions Private Ltd, said at the inaugural session on Saturday.

Pointing out that Chat GPT had brought a revolutionary shift in the field of technology, Naganagouda said it was time for youth to move away from Instagram and YouTube, and concentrate on serious technological developments by embracing the constant evolutions.

Highlighting the post-COVID scenario in India, Naganagouda said the industry was facing a lot of hurdles.

He said there is the need for educational institutions and industry to work together as more than 4.5 crore students are passing out from around 1000 universities every year, including 14 lakh engineers and 50,000 doctors.

Explaining the difference between job and career, he said job was temporary while career had the stamp of permanency. He urged students to focus on their vocation.

Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, SOA Vice-Chancellor, said the Deemed to be University was focusing on research with the National Education Policy laying a lot of stress on relationship between educational institutions and industry.
