School Bus Catches Fire In Odisha’s Konark; Students Escape Unhurt

Konark: Students of Konark-DAV Public School had a close shave when the school bus caught fire on Konark-Gop road in Odisha’s Puri district on Tuesday.

According to sources, a local spotted fire in one of the wheels and chased the vehicle to inform the driver about it. “I saw the wheel of the bus burning near the Medical Chhak, and chased and intercepted the vehicle. Even the school bus staff were not aware of the fire,” he said.

The incident took place when the school bus was en route to Begunia Chhak to pick up students. Around six students were in the bus when the fire was detected and they were made to alight from vehicle immediately. Soon, firefighters from Gopa reached the spot and doused the flames .

The driver later told the media that the fire started from brake circuit.
