Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Wednesday informed the State Assembly that Nabarangpur topped the districts in the state in terms of highest dropout rate in the upper primary school category in 2019-20.
The minister, in reply to a question of the BJP member Mukesh Mahaling, said in terms of the district-wise school dropouts at the upper primary level in 2019-20, Nabarangpur district has the highest 13.35% followed by Malkangiri at 13% and Gajapati at 9.38%.
On the other hand, Sambalpur and Khurda districts have zero dropouts in both primary and upper primary level in 2019-20 while Kendrapada has zero dropouts in the upper primary level in 2019-20.
Apart from this, Angul, Bolangir, Cuttack, Ganjam, Jajpur and Nuapada districts have zero dropouts in the primary school level in the year 2019-20, the minister added.
