Rourkela: The main gate of a private school at Sector-9 in Odisha’s Rourkela collapsed on Thursday night, killing two persons, including a 16-year-old.
The tragic incident took place at the Vikash IND Global School at around 10 pm on Thursday. The deceased were identified as school security guard Gandhiram Rout (58) and Suresh Choudhury (16), son of another school employee Tribeni Choudhury.
Rout and Suresh were closing the gate when it came off and collapsed on them. Rout was killed on the spot. Suresh was rushed to the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) in a critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Rourkela police are investigating the incident.
