Balasore: The headmaster of a school was allegedly beaten up by locals in Bhograi area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Monday following a complaint that he misbehaved with a girl student. It was also alleged that he even molested the girl.
The incident was reported to have taken place at Chandipur Mundabania Government Nodal Upper Primary School in Kakhada Gram Panchayat of Bhograi block in the district, sources said.
The villages were furious following allegation that school headmaster, identified as G C Jena, had misbehaved with a girl student of Class VIII.
Several villagers stormed the school and allegedly thrashed the headmaster after receiving information about the incident. The headmaster was trying to escape after tendering an apology to the parents and guardians of several students who had gathered at the school. However, he was stopped by the locals and beaten up.
The villagers created a ruckus and demanded stern action against the headmaster and his immediate dismissal from service.
On receiving information, the Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator (CRCC) reached the spot and started an investigation. He ensured the locals that necessary action will be taken after a thorough probe.
