School Students In Odisha’s Rayagada March 5 Km, Sit On Dharna Outside Collector’s Office For Redressal Of Grievances

Rayagada: Over 300 tribal students of Ekalabya Residential School, marched 5 km on foot to convey their grievances to the Collector here. The school at Siriguda is run by the SC & ST Development Department.

The tribal students complained about the quality of food being served at the school’s hostel, poor condition of toilets, non-issuance of uniforms, shortage of teachers and the principal’s rude behaviour towards those who complained of the shortcomings.

The students sat on a dharna in front of the Collector’s office to convey their grievances. They refused to speak to the Additional District Magistrate (ADM), the Collector and the Project Administrator, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA).
