Balasore: The teacher of a school in Baliapal area of Balasore district on Wednesday, filed a sexual harassment complaint against the school’s headmaster.
The woman, who teaches Sanskrit, alleged that Ratikant Jena, Headmaster of Jathia Upper Primary High School had been sexually harassing her for the last nearly nine months.
She had joined the school in 2003. She alleged that Jena used to take her pictures frequently without her consent. She also alleged that the headmaster had touched her inappropriately, threatening her with dire consequences if she reported the matter.
The woman said she had brought the matter to the notice of the DEO and the Collector but in vain. Not able to take it any longer, the teacher registered a complaint against Jena at the Baliapal police station and threatened to commit suicide if she did not get justice.
Meanwhile, Jena refuted all the allegations against him.
School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Dash has asked the Balasore DEO to submit a report in this regard so that follow up action can be taken.
