Cuttack: A school teacher has been placed under suspension for alleged dereliction of duty and failure to stop malpractice during the ongoing matriculation examination in Odisha.
The incident has been reported from Anantnarayan High School at Narasinghpur in Cuttack district. Action has been taken against the teacher six days after the incident took place.
As per reports, science teacher of Sankarsan Nodal High School Anasuya Maharana was engaged as an invigilator in a room at the examination centre at Anantnarayan High School.
When the matric examination began on February 20, a home guard, identified as Reena Mallick helped a student in cheating. In the presence of Anasuya Maharana. The scene was recorded in AI camera.
After the incident came to light, the district education officer (DEO) conducted an investigation and placed Maharana under suspension, sources said.
