Bhubaneswar: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed the Odisha government to pay Rs 1 lakh compensation to the family of a deceased girl student of Kutenchuan ashram school under Samarsingh panchayat of Nuapada block.
In November 2018, Mili Sabar, a Class IV students of the ashram school, was admitted to Nuapada district headquarters hospital after she complained of fever. However, she later succumbed to her illness. A case was registered with NHRC in this connection.
Based on the facts of the case, the NHRC ordered for payment of the compensation.
