Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police will reveal the identity of the youth arrested in connection with the alleged molestation of a school girl after a test identification (TI) parade on Saturday.
The accused was arrested on Friday evening.
“We will give the details of the accused after he is identified by the victim in the TI parade today,” Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi told the media here.
Sources said that the accused hails from Saheed Nagar area in the city.
The TI parade is a process by which the identity of persons, things or animals concerned in the offence under investigation or trial is established through a test parade.
The incident was captured on a CCTV camera at Laxmisagar on August 21. In the footage, the accused was seen following the girl while she was going for tuition classes on a bicycle. He later accosted the victim to a lonely lane at Sabar Sahi and molested her. However, he fled the area after the girl raised an alarm.
The girl’s family had lodged a police complaint the same day.
