Schools, Colleges Closed In 10 Odisha Districts Amid Heavy Rain Alert


Bhubaneswar: In view of floods caused and heavy rain alert in several parts of Odisha, all schools and Anganwadi centres will remain closed in at least ten districts of the state on Wednesday.

According to information, the district administrations of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Baragada, Kendujhar, Balangir, Sambalpur, Sundaragada, Debagada, Sonpur and Nuapada have also ordered the closure of all colleges as a precautionary measure to ensure safety of students.

As per official order issued by the respective district administrations, classes have been suspended across Anganwadi centres, government, aided, and private schools, including Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), and Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) in these

Notably, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the state over the next 24 hours.

The authorities have urged parents and students to remain indoors and strictly follow official advisories issued from time to time.
