Schools Reopen In Odisha For Class X & XII Students

Bhubaneswar: The higher secondary schools reopened for Class X and XII students across Odisha on Monday after being shut for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The classes are being held from 10 am to 1.30 pm without a break. The online classes will continue. The schools will remain shut on government holidays.

The Odisha government is also contemplating reopening classes for Class IX and XI students from August 16 and September 15, respectively.

The School and Mass Education Department issued certain guidelines for reopening of schools.

  1. Online/distance learning will continue to be the preferred mode of teaching. Where schools are conducting online classes and some students prefer to attend online classes rather than physical ones, they may be allowed to do so.
  2. Online and classroom learning will go on simultaneously with each other and should continue to share timelines and daily schedules to ensure synchronisation.
  3. Students may attend schools/institutions in consultation with their parents or guardians. Attendance is not mandatory.
