Malkangiri: A day after temperature touched 40°C, the District Education Office in Odisha’s Malkangiri and Gajapati on Tuesday ordered the closure of all schools from April 22 to April 25.
The directive aims to ensure the safety of students. It applies to all government, government-aided, and privately managed institutions with students from Sishu Vatika to Class XII. Teaching and non-teaching staff, however, have been instructed to report to duty as usual between 6:30 am and 10:30 am. Supplementary examinations for Class V and Class VI
II will proceed on the dates already notified by the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA), Bhubaneswar.
School authorities have been directed to make adequate arrangements, including the provision of drinking water, oral rehydration salts (ORS), and first-aid facilities, to ensure the well-being of students appearing for these exams.

Routine administrative functions, admissions, census-related duties, and other essential school activities will continue uninterrupted during the four-day period. Board examinations scheduled by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), CBSE, and ICSE will be conducted as per their original timetables, the orders added.
