Bhubaneswar: A lady teacher died on the spot and a former school headmaster was seriously injured in a road accident near Gohira Chhak, on the outskirts of the city, on Wednesday.
According to sources, former headmaster of MDRC High School at Jatni, Gokulananda Mahanta, and Binodini Nayak, a lady English teacher of Kantia High School were on their way to Bhubaneswar from Jatni when a speeding car rammed into the two-wheeler they were riding. While the lady teacher died on the spot, Mahanta sustained grievous injuries.
Following information, Khandagiri police rushed to the spot and admitted Mahanta to AIIMS-Bhubaneswar,. His condition is stated to be critical.
