Scribe Injured In Sword Attack In Balasore

Balasore: A senior journalist was injured in an attack by two unidentified miscreants at Baliapal Block Chhak in Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday morning.

According to reports, Radhakrushna Sahu, a senior journalist, was on his way to hand over the newspaper packet to a local hawker at Baliapal Block Chhak in the morning when two unidentified miscreants came on a bike and suddenly attacked him with a sword from behind and fled the area.

Soon after the incident, some locals rushed to the spot and admitted him to the government hospital at Baliapal.

The condition of Sahu, who sustained a deep cut on the thigh and four fingers of his right hand, is stated to be stable.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Sahu had past enmity with some people.

Efforts are on to nab the culprits, police said.
