Bhubaneswar: A three-member search committee has been formed by the Governor and Chancellor of universities for the appointment of Vice-Chancellor of the Utkal University.
The former chief secretary Subas Pani, the nominee of the Chancellor, is the chairman of the committee.
Besides, former vice-chancellor of Sambalpur University Priyambada Mohanty Hejmadi has been nominated as the member of the committee as a nominee of the state government while Prof Nageswar Rao of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is the other member who is the nominee of the chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Besides, the Chancellor has nominated commissioner-cum-secretary, Higher Education Saswat Mishra as the convener of the committee who will receive the applications of the aspirants and submit those to the search committee after scrutiny.
The selection committees after conducting the viva voce of the applicants will shortlist the names of three applicants and send to the Chancellor who will select one of them for the post of Vice-Chancellor after conducting their viva voce.
