Phulbani: Search operation is underway to trace a youth, who went missing after drowning in Putudi waterfall in Odisha’s Kandhamal district on Sunday.
The missing young man has been identified as Swadhin Biswal
, who hails from Sambalpur. He was working as an Assistant Section Officer (ASO) in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, Biswal was on a holiday in Phulbani with three friends. The group visited the popular Putudi waterfall around 11 am. While bathing, Biswal lost his footing and fell into the waterfall. His friends immediately raised the alarm and sought help.
Phulbani Sadar police, along with personnel from the Fire Services and the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), promptly launched a search and rescue operation. Despite sustained efforts, Biswal had not been traced as of the latest updates.
