Seashore Chit Fund Scam Accused Prashant Das Granted Bail

Bhubaneswar: Dhenkanal District and Sessions Judge granted bail to
Seashore Group Chairman and Managing Director Prashant Das on
Thursday.

The court granted the bail to Das against two sureties of Rs 2 lakh.

Das was arrested by Dhenkanal police on January 6, less than 24 hours
after being released from Jharpara Circle Jail after getting bail in
eight cases.

Das was arrested from his residence at Jharpara area in connection
with two more cases related to chit fund scam pending against him at
Dhenkanal police station.

Earlier on June 20, 2013, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of State
Crime Branch had arrested the Seashore Chief from Mumbai on charges of
duping investors of more than Rs 500 crore. He was arrested before the
case was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
