Bhadrak: COVID-19 tally in the district went up to 1510 with the second-highest single-day spike of 107 positive cases reported on Sunday.
According to the district administration, 106 among them were local contact cases while one was detected in quarantine centres.
The highest 37 cases were reported from Bonth, followed by 32 from Basudevpur and 16 from Bhadrak block. The remaining cases surfaced in different areas of the district.
Five cases have already been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack and SUM Hospital and AIIMS in Bhubaneswar.
The district has also reported one more death due to the disease, taking the toll to five. He is a 75-year-old male, who was also suffering from hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He died while undergoing treatment in the hospital.
