Mumbai: Section 144 was clamped in Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon to curb the rising number of coronavirus cases. Presence or movement of one or more persons in public places is now prohibited.
Gatherings of any sort anywhere, including religious places, will also not be allowed.
At least 60 police personnel in Maharashtra have died of COVID-19 since the outbreak of the disease. Around 4,900 personnel have been tested positive. Of these, 2,600 are from the Mumbai Police force. More than 3,700 personnel have also recovered from the infection.
